What is a cheap hotel in Chicago, IL. Travel date is for mid October. Shared bath is OK for Senior traveler.?

Looking for budget hotel, private room, not hostel for two nights in Chicago, sometime in October. Are there any budget or one star hotels in Chicago on public transportation route.

My search only turns up hotels in the $200 range or higher. Would like something under $100 per night. Not expecting much. Shared bath ok.What is a cheap hotel in Chicago, IL. Travel date is for mid October. Shared bath is OK for Senior traveler.?
Here's my never fail way to get great room for rediculous prices...it never fails.

Go to Priceline.

Put in the dates you want and go to Choose your own Price

Use the map to find out where you will accept, when they find the hotel. Then choose a 3 star hotel (I've done it with 4).

Then put in a rediculous price like $50 a night.

If they don't find you something. Put in $55. If that doesn't work, put in 60, etc until you get something.

You're never going to believe how wonderfully this works. I recently stayed in a hotel in NYC for $65 a night. None of my NYC friends believed me, but it was true, and the room was fabulous. I've done it in Providence, (I stayed in a 2 room suite at the Biltmore for $65 a night and a huge room at the Raddison for $60 a night) White Plains, NY, Ft. Lauderdale, and San Francisco. You will be amazed. Good luck! What is a cheap hotel in Chicago, IL. Travel date is for mid October. Shared bath is OK for Senior traveler.?
There is a hotel off of Irving Park Road near Racine .... it is called Hotel Veronica it is about $80 a night before taxes ....
Stayed at the Congress Plaza Hotel last year for about $120 a night...not a luxury hotel, it's certainly an older than most, but it was clean and it worked for me.
I don't think you're going to find anything under $100.00

Contact triple AAA and ask them
There is an Econo lodge in South Holland, IL located off of Interstate 80 South of Chicago. The rooms are all private and rooms are as cheap as $49. Also there is a nice Farfield inn at Tinley Park. This is also off of Interstate 80. Rooms here start at $69.
Actually, Chicago is very expensive - the hotels really cater to business travelers and therefore the rates are outrageous. The Kimpton hotel group has 3 hotels at very reasonable rartes (the lowest I have found) that aren't roach motels. You'll have to pay more than $100 per night, but you'll earn loyalty points so it may be worth the extra money.
